Sugarleaf Winery

We built a custom 2,200 square foot winery in 2004 to welcome the fruit of Sugarleaf Vineyards. The construction process took 1 ½ years to complete from start to finish.  The design of the winery was inspired by our trips to wineries around the world, architectural magazines, and our desire to maintain the integrity, character and country coziness of the surrounding 126 acre estate. The state of the art facility embodies our minimalist gravitational pull method of production. This method allows us to preserve all of the natural characteristics of our premium grapes, and seamlessly produce our wine.

During processing, we methodically sort through all of the fruit by hand to ensure that we utilize only the highest quality fruit. At the Sugarleaf winery we use the French Delestage method to produce our red wines. This method involves aeration, pumping over, and seed removal. All of the red wines at Sugarleaf Vineyards are bin fermented and each bin is punched down by hand four times a day during fermentation.  All of these efforts are undertaken by hand so that we can produce wines of superior quality.

The Sugarleaf Winery has a very quaint and inviting tasting room that overlooks the vineyard and provides the comfort of southern living. We are very pleased to be producing our handcrafted wines in our brand new Sugarleaf facility.
